Flights

Flights to and from Zaragoza can either be direct (with Ryanair) via Brussels, London (Stansted), Milan, Ibiza, Bucharest or Paris (Beauvais) or via Madrid or Barcelona.

The distance from Zaragoza airport to the city centre is about 10 km.

There is a taxi rank right outside Arrivals. Approximate fare from the airport to the city centre: 30 €.

There is also a bus link connecting the airport and the city centre (the last stop, closest to the centre, is at Paseo María Agustín; you can also take the bus here when travelling from the city to the airport).

From Zaragoza: Monday to Saturday: from 5:30 to 22:30 every 30 minutes. Sundays: from 6:00 to 22:00 every hour + a first bus at 5:30 and a last bus at 22:45.

From the airport: Monday to Saturday: from 6:15 to 23:15 every 30 minutes. Sundays: from 6:45 to 22:45 every hour + a first bus at 6:15 and a last bus at 23:15

FROM THE AIRPORT OF MADRID OR BARCELONA TO THE TRAIN STATION

Please be aware that travelling from the airport to the train stations in the city center of Madrid or Barcelona can take over an hour in both cases.


Madrid Airport to Madrid Train Station
(Atocha Station)

From the Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas Airport to the Atocha-Renfe Train Station (there is another train station, so make sure you go to Atocha) you can:

  • Use the commuter train service to Atocha which departs from Terminal 4 (line C1). Travel time and frequency are both around 30 minutes. Renfe Commuter Train service

If you are flying into another terminal (T1, T2, T3), you can use the shuttle bus, a free bus transport service between all the airport terminals, 24 hours a day. Information on transport between terminals

  • Use the EMT public bus express service, which is available 24 hours. Travel time is about 40 minutes depending on traffic. You can buy your ticket from the driver (5,00 Euros) but they can accept cash only. Additional information is available at the EMT Bus Express website


Barcelona Airport to Barcelona Train Station (Barcelona Sants)

There is a direct train service from Barcelona-El Prat Airport to Sants Train Station. This service (line R2) runs every 30 min and it takes around 25 min to get to Sants Train Station. Terminal 2 and the train station at the airport are connected by a covered footbridge. If you are arriving into Terminal 1 you will need to take a free shuttle bus that connects T1 and T2.

Note: You are entitled to a free train ticket from Madrid airport if you use the commuter train departing from Terminal 4 when travelling on AVE (high speed) and long distance trains to your final destination (Zaragoza). The same applies to the return journey if you have travelled from Zaragoza by train and you then take the commuter train to the airport.

How to obtain a free ticket between Madrid airport and train station In case of trouble, go to the ticket office (you will have to show your train ticket to/from Zaragoza to get a free ticket to Atocha Train Station)

Trains from Madrid and Barcelona to Zaragoza
(Delicias Train Station)

There are train connections to Zaragoza from Barcelona and Madrid train stations. You can travel from both cities to Zaragoza in less than two hours.

The cheapest tariff is Tourist-4M only if 4 people are travelling together. Then it comes P (Promo) and P+ (Promo plus). The former is cheaper because changes and cancellations are not allowed, which you can do if you buy a P+

Buses from Madrid and Barcelona to Zaragoza (Delicias Bus Station)

You can also take a bus from Barcelona or Madrid to Zaragoza. The buses run almost every hour and cover the 300 km distance in 3hours 30min. Visit the Alsa Bus Company website Alsa website for additional information. Buses from Barcelona depart from Barcelona Nord Bus Station but, if you are flying to Madrid, buses to Zaragoza depart from the Airport itself (Terminal 4), so you may find this a convenient option all together. The same goes for the return journey, as you can travel from Zaragoza Delicias to Barajas Airport T4 by bus. Remember that there is a free shuttle bus service connecting all airport terminals (see above).
