These references are nothing but a brief introduction to the wide field of the so-called Commonwealth Studies, mainly as regards the analysis and interpretation of Australian, Indian and South African literature and cinema. Most of them are general/ theoretical introductions, both to the fields in question and to the main critical/ postcolonial figures. A rather more detailed list of references is given to the students as we deal with specific literary and filmic texts.
