All the contributions to this book focus on the way in which the postmodernist dismantling and recycling of recognizable categories and literary models expand the possibilities of literature and project new meanings that often destabilise and/or subvert the certainties of the past. By delving into the problems that surround the redefinition of ontological and/or generic boundaries, the contributors to this collection explore the ways in which concrete literary works and films open loopholes that undermine the various forms of ontological and/or generic closure and compartmentalization, while simultaneously posing a series of questions, which will surely be thought-provoking to anyone interested in the teasing dynamics of postmodernist narrative. All in all, this collection aims to throw some light on the way in which the postmodernist play with boundaries -ontological, generic, and any other kind - marks postmodernism as a set of critical and cultural practices that cannot be exhausted by the plots that contain them.
